Throughout our world there are many people who need to know their lives can be different. That their dreams of a better life can be realized. That there is hope. 

One such group lives on a small SE Asian Island.

The cost to import rice, afford school for their children and to obtain basic medical care is out of their reach—even though $5.00 a day per family could make this possible.

The hope of employment in neighboring countries often results in incarceration and deportation, separating family members and adding additional financial burden. But the scarce island resources make income-producing projects difficult.

Recently six families have banded together and birthed a small "cottage industry". They are weaving colorful thread bracelets, as pictured above, to be sold abroad. Through this industry these families can earn $2.00--$4.00 per family per day: Enough to buy fish and rice for their entire family for each day.  

By our selling their thread bracelets for $2.00 each, we can help provide their daily food and build a fund to put their children through high school. The sale of 125 bracelets can put one teenager through a whole year of high school, covering his/her room and board, tuition, uniform, and additional school expenses.

The bracelets are for are well worth their $2.00 price. Better yet, it is an investment in families and children. These families have courage, and they are working in hope of a better future.
